Molds

I learned how to make molds today, which is pretty sweet. Thanks to Nikkila for teaching me!

I bought a coyote jaw and tongue replica from a taxidermy site and then did molds of them. So, my pieces might be get'n creepier...

Also, doing some more glaze testing, and soon I might start glazing my stuff. I did glaze one guy, but he is not so interesting compared to my newer stuffs.

A slump

I've ran into a bit of a slump. I still want to make monsters, just... everything I come up with isn't good enough to me. So, had slow goings...

I finally made a guy I didn't care for a lot. He's okay, and with the additions of non-clay, he will be better... *cackle*

Also started on another one. He's odd... I need to start glazing, but I want to do more test first.

I still need names as well...

Another guy

Well, I've made another monster fella. At first, I didn't really care for him. He wouldn't talk to me, he wouldn't open up... We didn't get along, but I tried to make it work. Finally, after some not really desired Indian food but was okay anyway, I added some texture to this shy guy to make him really open up and talk to me.

I added these bumpy dudes, and he looked more interesting.

I still need to come up with good names, but I just can't think of anything that fits. And I don't want stupid stuff, I want something relevant, but not all super conceptual. Just something, simple...

Also, while this guy was interesting, he was still missing something. Of course Mama Bear comes and saves the day! She added these eyes and this creepy ass mouth to the top of the guy. See? It looks better already! It's like magic.

New monster!

Just been working on my new monster guy. I'm very pleased with how he has improved from my previous creatures. He is much more detailed and seems to be more lively, thanks in large part to Mama Bear! I'm planning on using a shiny, slippery looking glaze, because I want him to look wet and slimy. Also, I'm struggling with a name. I can't keep calling my creatures... creatures. But names like Mr. Lumps just are not good enough! Alas...

I also will be looking at animal anatomy to try and make more believable parts. I don't want to make things that look just like something else, but rather an echo of reality...
